Gregory Palamas
Athonite monk and later archbishop of Thessaloniki who defended the real distinction of God’s essence and uncreated energies. Load-bearing for how Orthodoxy talks about knowing and participating in God; this corpus has not found in him a mechanism that grounds logical form.
Palamas defended the hesychast claim that the light seen in prayer is God, really God, and not the essence. The essence-energies distinction is his technical instrument. OTC-013 tests it against Journet and Lévy's Thomist composition charge: symmetric cost, not a Palamite win and not a Thomist demolition.
OTC-001's T2 asked whether, granting Orthodox revelation, the energies or logoi ground logical form without univocal mind-predication of the essence. Premise (i) — Palamas identifies logoi with energies and acts of will — is satisfied. Premise (ii) — a stated mechanism connecting that to formal structure — is not, in the sources reviewed. The negative is structural (doctrinal commitments that block the identification), not "we didn't look."
The mistaken everyday reading is that Palamas already answered TAG, or that "energies" means a New Age field. Neither is in the texts.
