Transcendental Argument for God (TAG)
An argument that the existence of God is the necessary precondition for the intelligibility of human experience — including logic, science, and morality.
The TAG argues that certain features of human experience — the laws of logic, the uniformity of nature, objective moral standards — are only intelligible if God exists. Without God, these features cannot be accounted for without falling into vicious circularity or infinite regress.
**Structure:** 1. The laws of logic, the uniformity of nature, and objective morality exist. 2. These can only be accounted for if God (specifically, the Triune God of Christianity) exists. 3. Therefore, God exists.
The TAG is distinctive because it doesn't argue *from* evidence *to* God. Instead, it argues that evidence, logic, and science themselves presuppose God's existence.
