Tahrif
The Islamic charge that Jews and Christians corrupted Scripture — by wording (lafẓ), by meaning (maʿnā), or both. This corpus has run the wording charge against the recovered New Testament under the same manuscript method used on the NT itself: wholesale textual replacement is rejected as history. Interpretive or meaning-corruption remains open. The charge does not make Islam historically impossible.

Tahrif is the charge that previous scriptures were corrupted — the text altered, or the meaning twisted, or both. It is how many Islamic polemics explain why the Qur'an can both confirm and override the Torah and the Gospel.
This corpus has now run the wording (*lafẓ*) charge against the recovered New Testament under the same manuscript method already used on the NT (OTC-003 fronts, 2026-08-24). Wholesale textual replacement of that recovered text is rejected as history. Qur'anic *yuharrifūna*, on the specialist reading used there, is contextual shifting aimed at Jews, and Q 5:47 assumes a Gospel still at hand. Interpretive or meaning-corruption (*maʿnā*) remains open — a live stance, not a closed proof either way. None of that makes Islam historically or structurally impossible.
The mistaken everyday reading is "Muslims think we forged the Bible, end of story." The charge has internal varieties (wording vs meaning), and the Christian reply has to meet historical method, not TAG.
