Steelmanning
The practice of constructing the strongest possible version of an opponent's argument before attempting to refute it.
The opposite of a straw man. Steelmanning means engaging with the best, most rigorous version of an opposing position. This is Debby's core methodology — every worldview gets its strongest representation.
**Why it matters:** If you can defeat the strongest version of an argument, your refutation is credible. If you only defeat a weak version, you've proven nothing.
